Introduction
These Vendor Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the submission and sale of digital items to DjangoZen ("DjangoZen," "we," "us," or "our"). By submitting your digital products through our vendor submission form, you ("Vendor," "Developer," "you") agree to these Terms in their entirety.
Important: DjangoZen purchases digital items outright. Once purchased, DjangoZen owns full and exclusive rights to the product.
1. Business Model
1.1 Purchase Model: DjangoZen does NOT operate on a commission-based model. We purchase digital items outright through a one-time payment.
1.2 Ownership Transfer: Upon payment, all rights, title, and interest in the digital item transfer to DjangoZen, including but not limited to:
- Full ownership and intellectual property rights
- Right to modify, enhance, or rebrand the product
- Right to create and enforce licenses
- Right to resell and distribute
- All source code and documentation
1.3 Developer Credit: Your name will be visibly credited on:
- Product license documentation
- Product detail pages
- README files and documentation (where applicable)
1.4 No Commission: DjangoZen does not take a commission percentage. You receive a one-time payment only.
2. Submission Requirements
2.1 Originality Requirements
Strict Enforcement
Digital items (DI) must be your original work. The following are strictly prohibited:
- No copying from other developers
- No plagiarism of any kind
- No license violations of third-party code
- Violation Consequence: Immediate removal and permanent ban from DjangoZen platform
2.2 Security & Quality Requirements
Digital items must be:
- Free of licenses that restrict commercial use
- Free of trace code and tracking mechanisms
- Free of backdoors and unauthorized access points
- Free of viruses and malware
Security Scanning: All submissions undergo automated security scanning. Items failing the scan will be deleted immediately and the developer will be blocked and denied from future submissions.
2.3 Delivery Format
Digital items must be:
- Downloadable from GitHub only
- Provided as a zip file only
- Include the following in the zip file:
- Installation guide
- Usage instructions / how-to documentation
- README.md file with:
- Developer name
- Product name
- Reasonable asking price
- Product description
3. Product Categories & Technical Requirements
3.A Web Applications
Eligible Projects: Django projects, admin templates, SaaS applications, or other web applications
Technical Stack Requirements:
- Django Framework: Version 5.2 or later
- FastAPI: Allowed for API-focused projects
- Python: Version 3.12 or later
- JavaScript: Vanilla JS or modern frameworks
- HTML5: Semantic and accessible markup
- CSS Framework:
- Bootstrap 5.3 or later
- Tailwind CSS 4 or later
- Database: SQLite 3 only for development environment
- Dependencies: Open-source only (no paid dependencies)
Complexity: Projects must NOT be too complicated. Focus on practical, well-documented solutions.
Documentation:
- Clear setup instructions
- Installation guide
- Configuration documentation
- README.md file
3.B E-books
Content Requirements:
- Original content created by the developer
- Publication date: 2025 or later
- Topics: Must be about:
- Web development
- Programming
- UX design
- Django Framework
- Flask Framework
Format Requirements:
- Must provide all four formats:
- PDF
- EPUB
- MOBI
- MD (Markdown) - Original .md file of the e-book
- Professional formatting
- Proper table of contents
- Working hyperlinks (if applicable)
Source Code Requirements:
Important: E-books must also contain:
- Working and tested source code downloadable from GitHub
- Original .md (Markdown) file of the e-book content
- The code examples in the book must be functional, tested, and provided as a complete downloadable package
3.C Other Digital Items
Future Categories:
The following categories may be added in the future:
- Icons and icon packs
- Vector graphics
- Email templates
- UI components
- Code snippets and utilities
Suggestions Welcome: You may propose additional categories in your submission.
4. Review & Approval Process
4.1 Security Scanning:
- All submissions undergo automated security scanning
- Scanning checks for:
- Viruses and malware
- Backdoors and unauthorized access
- Trace code and tracking mechanisms
- License violations
- Code quality and security vulnerabilities
- Scanning must be completed within required time stamps
4.2 Review Timeline:
Two-Stage Process:
- Stage 1 - Security Scan: 24-48 hours
- Automated scanning for security violations
- If scan fails: Immediate rejection and deletion
- If scan passes: Proceeds to Stage 2
- Stage 2 - Valuation (Paid/Donation items only): 2-3 weeks
- Only applies to items that passed security scan
- DjangoZen evaluates quality, features, and market value
- Final purchase price determined
- Developer receives offer within this timeframe
Note: Free items skip Stage 2 valuation and are published immediately after passing security scan.
4.3 Approval Criteria:
Submissions are approved ONLY if they pass the security scan within the required time frame. There is no manual approval process for submissions that pass scanning.
4.4 Rejection & Consequences:
- If scanning finds violations: immediate deletion
- Developer will be blocked and denied from platform
- No appeals for security violations
- Permanent ban for:
- Plagiarism
- License violations
- Malicious code
- Backdoors or trace code
5. Pricing & Payment
5.1 Pricing Types:
You can choose how to offer your digital item:
- Paid: You want to sell for a specific price (one-time payment from DjangoZen)
- Free: You want to donate this item for free (no payment, but full credit given)
- Donation: Customers pay what they want (you can suggest a minimum, DjangoZen will pay you based on item value)
5.2 Price Submission (Paid Items):
For paid items, you provide your estimated asking price in the submission form. This is your suggested price.
5.3 DjangoZen Valuation:
For paid and donation items, DjangoZen will evaluate your digital item and determine the final purchase price based on:
- Technical quality and complexity
- Code quality and documentation
- Market demand and usefulness
- Completeness of features
- Overall value to customers
5.4 Free Items:
If you choose to donate your item for free:
- No payment will be issued
- Your name will be prominently credited as the contributor
- All other terms (ownership transfer, warranties, etc.) still apply
- DjangoZen will own and manage the item
5.5 Donation Items (Pay What You Want):
If you choose the donation model:
- Customers decide what to pay (you can suggest a minimum)
- DjangoZen will evaluate the item's value and offer a fair one-time payment
- Payment is not based on customer donations, but on item quality
- All revenue from customer donations goes to DjangoZen (as with paid items)
5.6 One-Time Payment (Paid & Donation Items):
- Payment is made one time only
- No recurring payments or commissions
- No royalties or revenue sharing
- Payment amount is based on DjangoZen's valuation, which may differ from your asking price
5.7 Payment Terms:
- Payment issued after approval and ownership transfer (for paid/donation items)
- Payment method to be agreed upon separately
- All applicable taxes are the responsibility of the vendor
6. Ownership & Rights
6.1 Full Ownership Transfer:
Upon payment, you transfer to DjangoZen:
- All intellectual property rights
- All source code and documentation
- All rights to modify, enhance, and rebrand
- All rights to create derivative works
- All commercial rights to sell and distribute
6.2 DjangoZen License Creation:
DjangoZen will create its own licensing system for all purchased digital items. You have no rights to the licensing or distribution of the product after sale.
6.3 Developer Credit:
You retain credit for development:
- Your name will appear on the product license
- Your name will appear on product pages
- This credit cannot be removed
- No other rights or claims remain
6.4 No Future Claims:
You waive all future claims to:
- Royalties or additional payments
- Distribution rights
- Modification rights
- Any ownership interest
7. Warranties & Representations
By submitting, you warrant and represent that:
- You are the sole and original creator of the digital item
- The item does not infringe on any third-party rights
- You have the legal right to sell the item to DjangoZen
- The item is free of malware, viruses, and malicious code
- The item is free of backdoors and unauthorized access mechanisms
- All open-source dependencies are properly licensed
- You have not sold or licensed the item to any other party
- All information provided in the submission is accurate
8. Prohibited Actions
Strictly Forbidden
The following actions will result in immediate rejection and permanent ban:
- Submitting copied or plagiarized code
- Violating licenses of other developers
- Including malicious code, viruses, or malware
- Adding backdoors or unauthorized access mechanisms
- Including trace code or tracking without disclosure
- Submitting items you do not own
- Providing false information in submissions
- Attempting to circumvent security scans
- Resubmitting rejected items without addressing issues
9. Liability & Indemnification
9.1 Vendor Liability:
You are solely responsible for ensuring your digital item:
- Does not infringe on third-party rights
- Is free of legal issues
- Complies with all applicable laws
- Is your original work
9.2 Indemnification:
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DjangoZen from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Infringement of third-party rights
- False representations or warranties
- Malicious code or security vulnerabilities
9.3 Limitation of Liability:
DjangoZen's liability is limited to the purchase price paid for your digital item.
10. Termination
10.1 Rejection:
DjangoZen may reject any submission at its sole discretion, with or without providing a reason.
10.2 Ban Conditions:
You will be permanently banned for:
- Violating originality requirements
- Failing security scans
- Submitting malicious code
- Providing false information
- Any prohibited actions listed in Section 8
10.3 Effect of Ban:
A ban prevents you from:
- Making future submissions
- Accessing vendor features
- Receiving payment for rejected items
11. Modifications to Terms
DjangoZen reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued submission after changes constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.
