Senior Web Developer

Summary:
The Senior Developer will lead BabyRobot’s development team in the creation and maintenance of client websites, mobile applications, social initiatives and emerging technology experiments. The Senior Developer will report to the Director of Technology, BabyRobot.
Responsibilities

• Work with the creative team to define and implement solutions based on project needs
• Lead projects throughout the development lifecycle
• Support and mentor members of the development team.
• Define well architected application structure
• Develop clean, well-structured reusable code and optimized applications
• Work with designers and project managers to create estimates and implementation plans.
• Assist with writing technical documentation for proposals, application architecture, installation, configuration and development.
• Research and develop prototypes for new ideas with the creative team.

• Must be willing to experiment with, adapt to, and learn new technologies.
• Django

• PostGreSQL
• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript (AJAX, jQuery)
• PHP/MySQL
• XML, JSON
• SVN or other versioning software
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented methodology
• University degree or college diploma in Computer Sciences or related major
• Minimum Five years of web development experience

Nice to Have:

• Experience with frameworks such as the Zend Framework or Code Igniter/PHPCake
• Experience with CMS systems such as Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla!, and Plone
• HTML 5
• Java (ME / MDS Runtime) for the BlackBerry
• iPhone development experience
• Linux/Apache server administration experience
• Flash and AS3
• Understanding of functional programming paradigms
